2026 Lenten Devotional
The Sermon on the Mount: On Earth as in Heaven
A Lenten Devotional through the Communities for Spiritual Vitality
Here are ways to engage with this 2026 devotional:
First, read the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) on your own and follow along with the daily reflections from lay and ordained people throughout New England. Our Sunday features are by the Brothers of St. John the Evangelist, and Holy Week is guided by our various bishops. To request a paper copy of the devotional, please complete this request form.
Second, consider creating a local group with which to study this material. A parish Lenten group during the week or during coffee hour may be the perfect fit. If parishes would like to purchase several copies for their members at a subsidized rate, please contact communities@diovermont.org.
Third, the Green Mountain Online Abbey will host a 7-week formation series using the devotional. They will be from 6:00-7:45pm from Thursday, February 19 to April 9, inclusive. (During Holy Week we will meet on Wednesday, April 1, instead of on Thursday). All are welcome to join the Abbey: HERE.

Use Our Bulletins
The GMOAbbey bulletins are lovingly created by one of our lay members, with the consultation of our priest-in-charge. They often use expansive language and are developed from various Anglican/Episcopal resources and some elements form other mainline liturgical traditions.
If you would like to pray privately or start a local daily prayer group, these bulletins are ready-made, available free of charge, and cycled every week.
Please note that most episcopal dioceses will require special permission for these bulletins to be used during principal worship on Sundays. They are best for private devotions, vestry and other retreats, and weekday daily prayer.
If you would like to explore the liturgical books that we use to make our bulletins, please see the next section of this page.
